About the Position: This position is located at Bassett Army Community Hospital in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Utliize automated database systems to enter and update cases during the Physical Disability Evaluation System process.
- →Coordinate evaluation appointments and pertinent details with soldiers and clinics.
- →Counsel those being processed through the Physical Disability Evaluation System (PDES) on their rights, benefits, privileges, and obligations.
- →Refer personnel to appropriate agencies to receive counseling and guidance on benefits provided by the Department of Labor, the Social Security Administration, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- →Explain and prepare Continuance On Active Duty, Continuance On Active Reserve Status, and extensions to active duty or Active Guard Reserve requests.
- →Brief hospital support staff and installation leadership on the Physical Disability Evaluation System process.
