The position is located in the Hampton VA Healthcare System, in the Associate Director Patient Care Service (ADPCS). The Hampton VAHCS is a general medical surgical facility with 477 beds serving a 15-county area in eastern Virginia and a 10-county area in northeastern North Carolina and has a veteran population of more than 220,000 veterans. A teaching hospital providing a full range of patient care services, Hampton VA features state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but are not limited to: The purpose of the position is to provide management and administrative support for a broad spectrum of ADPCS operations that require extensive knowledge of management principles, practices, methods, and standards.
- →Serves as an advisor by analyzing a variety of ADPCS operational activities involving staffing methodology, manpower utilization, work distribution, productivity, policies, processes, and other management functions for overall improvement.
- →Strategic planning, creating and maintaining statistical data for decision-making purposes, developing and monitoring cost effective programs, and monitoring organizational performance.
- →Frequently meets with Executive Leadership, Service Chiefs, and management officials to advise on issues that affect the delivery of health care.
- →Advises management on matters impacted by programmatic/policy changes.
- →Collaborate with subordinate ADPCS service lines to analyze and evaluate programs and operational activities for overall effectiveness.
- →Management and Planning: Advises on and provides management support involving administrative policies, programs, and operations of a highly complex health care delivery system with care spanning eight (8) subordinate service lines.
- →Works closely with the ADPCS by providing oversight overbroad range of administrative and management activities related to the institutional objectives of high-quality patient care.
- →Develops and implements effective action plans in collaboration with the ADPCS management to ensure various program needs are met.
- →Participate in internal service, senior management, and VISN leadership meetings by presenting and making effective recommendations to influence decisions related to high-quality patient care and operations.
- →Collaborates with VISN and VACO officials, senior management, section chiefs, and program specialists to ensure integrated goals, mission, and priorities are met.
- →Evaluation and Analysis: Acts as the project lead for healthcare and operational improvement projects impacting patient care delivery systems and functions.
- →Responsible for conducting special organizational studies involving staffing methodology, manpower utilization, workflow operations, work distribution, productivity, policies, processes, equipment, space utilization, and other operational functions.
- →Responsible for improving the effectiveness of program operations through the establishment of appropriate organizational structures and the use of efficient work methods and procedures.
