The incumbent, a Health Systems Specialist in the Medical Staff Office under the Chief of Staff at a VA Medical Center (VAMC), conducts analytical reviews, manages data, and advises VAMC leadership on Credentialing and Privileging (C&P) processes. Please be advised that this position is currently subject to an OPM consistency review, which may result in a change in grade. If the review results in a reduction in grade, you could be eligible for grade and/or pay retention.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Collaborates with VAMC leadership, healthcare providers, C&P administrative specialists, and other teams to manage FPPE and OPPE for the C&P Program, serving as the facility's subject matter expert (SME) in these areas.
- →Gathers documents, analyzes, and tracks program data to ensure compliance, conducts analytical assessments, manages data collection and reporting, evaluates Our Providers database and State Licensing information, and participates in developing OPPE, FPPE, and privilege forms.
- →Identifies issues, recommends corrective actions, and estimates compliance timelines.
- →Quantitative and qualitative skills are used to conduct industry analysis, assess communications, make recommendations for policy adaptations, establish work priorities, determine baselines for assessments, and track and analyze issues.
- →Evaluates Joint Commission standards, Federal and State regulations, and new VA directives, the incumbent determines impacts on FPPE, OPPE, and C&P program components, recommending local process and policy changes.
- →Oversees the initiation, completion, and compliance of FPPE and OPPE clinical evaluations, providing guidance and assistance as per all requirements and standards, while monitoring evaluation statuses.
- →Reviews and aids in the development of privileging forms, provides updates on local VA policies, manages two-part folder reviews ensuring federal archival compliance, performs quarterly VetPro access reviews, implements monitoring systems for the Our Provider database, manages facility Report Card data tracking, and tracks data trends.
- →Manages special projects for new program initiatives, requirements, and process improvements, providing data analysis support and leading implementation practices and procedures.
- →Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Position Description Title/PD#: Health System Specialist-Credentialing and Privileging Analyst/PD91700VS Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary.
- →Occasionally, light physical effort may be required, such as that involved with walking, stair climbing, and carrying of light office items.
