The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System is recruiting for two (2) Health Systems Specialists. This position reports to the Ambulatory Care Operations Director (ACOD) / Group Practice Manager (GPM). The primary purpose of the position is to provide assistance and support to the ACOD/GPM and to all ambulatory care services in the facility and related Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) as it relates to access to care as applicable.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: Support the Ambulatory Care Operations Director (ACOD) / Group Practice Manager (GPM) and all ambulatory care services across the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and its Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) to ensure high-quality, accessible, and efficient care.
- →The position oversees and integrates Primary Care, Mental Health, Surgery, Medicine, and/or Ancillary clinics into an effective Clinic Practice Management (CPM) model, providing access-related consultative services and supporting operations that promote timely access and coordinated clinic functions.
- →Evaluate processes, policies, and clinic performance; provide data, reports, and recommendations to the ACOD/GPM to support strategic planning related to access to care; and assist in the development and standardization of key operational and business practices, including scheduling and access strategies.
- →Collaborate with service lines, support CPM-related training and onboarding activities, and contribute to the local application and implementation of national policies and procedures.
- →Participate in continuous process improvement using data analysis, LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies, and performance monitoring.
- →Identify workflow issues, support consult management activities, advise on resource allocation, and assist with planning related to space, equipment, and operational improvements.
- →Follow benchmarks and established processes for taking corrective actions on low or decreasing scores in Veteran/Staff experience data.
- →Incorporate best practices to help improve patient access to care and that standards are met within assigned services.
- →Ensure alignment with facility, VISN, and national standards and work with clinic leaders to support efficient, high-quality ambulatory care delivery.
