About the Role
This position is being filled under a stream-lined hiring authority, Title 21 of the United States Code (21 US Code 379d-3a) as amended by the 21st Century Cures Act of 2016, section 3072 and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, Section 3624. The candidate selected for this position will serve under a career or career-conditional appointment and be paid under the provisions of this authority. This position is being recruited based on the Title 21 Pay Table 1, Band D, $143,913 - $197,200.
What You'll Do
- →Develops and revises policy, program, regulation, and guidance documents involving complex and high priority matters that state or interpret Center or Agency policy for the regulated industry.
- →Conducts self-directed and supervisory-assigned regulatory and legal research to inform the development of medical policy programs and support evidence-based regulatory decisions on broad topics of national scope.
- →Provides policy subject matter expertise while collaborating with Division and Office staff and management to strengthen the regulatory, scientific, and technical aspects of programs and actions, ensuring alignment with management goals.
- →Provides health science and technical expertise and leadership for cross-discipline working groups engaging both internal and external stakeholders.
- →Drafts, reviews, and summarizes responses to public comments received on proposed regulations and recommending adoption or rejection of counter-proposals contained in comments for Division and Office level approval.
