The position serves as Education and Training Manager for the Veterans Health Administration's (VHA) National Center for Ethics in Health Care (NCEHC). NCEHC is responsible for addressing the complex ethics issues that arise in healthcare across the VHA, including those ethics issues relating to clinical ethics, organizational ethics, organizational policy, and research ethics.
What You'll Do
- →The duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Coordinating national and regional education and training, identifying effective means of communication.
- →Conducting national and local needs assessments to guide the development and design of new ethics education products and activities.
- →Manage and/or lead the development of new course content, including writing and designing information about complex ethical issues for health care providers with varied professional backgrounds.
- →Implementing continuous quality improvement processes with education and training programming and in support of health care delivery processes.
- →Coordinating logistics for education program/project activities such as meetings and training sessions.
- →Analyzing education or instructional problems and opportunities related to health care ethics.
- →Serving as a point of contact for VHA staff participating in NCEHC training activities and with other VA and VHA staff responsible for staff education and training.
- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, various tours available Compressed/Flexible: Available at discretion of the Supervisor Telework: This position may be authorized for ad hoc telework.
- →Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
- →Virtual: This position may be authorized for Virtual Work.
- →Virtual Work eligibility is for current VA employees that are already subject to the return to in person work mandate and highly qualified candidates with assigned space to work in-person from an agency worksite.
- →Definition of Virtual Work: Employee works outside of original hiring duty station at a VA-owned or leased space.
