Head of Trading & Brokerage

About the Company

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Market Making to establish and lead our Market Making and Liquidity Providing function. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, and management of a new Market Making desk, initially focusing on the Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) with a long-term vision to expand into GCC capital markets.

About the Role

The successful candidate will combine strategic leadership with hands-on trading expertise, driving liquidity, optimizing capital deployment, managing market risk, and generating sustainable revenue through efficient market making strategies.

Responsibilities

• Design, establish, and lead the organization's Market Making and Liquidity Providing desk.
• Develop and execute market making strategies across listed securities.
• Build liquidity provision capabilities for the Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) and support future regional expansion.
• Manage inventory, trading positions, and capital allocation to maximize profitability while maintaining prudent risk controls.
• Monitor market conditions, order flow, volatility, and liquidity to optimize bid-ask spreads.
• Develop pricing models and execution strategies to improve market efficiency.
• Establish robust market, operational, and liquidity risk management frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and exchange rules.
• Build strong relationships with exchanges, regulators, brokers, institutional investors, and market participants.
• Collaborate with technology teams to implement trading systems, algorithms, and market making infrastructure.
• Develop performance dashboards and monitor trading KPIs.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing market making team.
• Identify opportunities to expand market making activities into GCC financial markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Master's degree (MBA, Finance, Financial Engineering) is an advantage.
• Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
