About the Role

The National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) leads the nation's effort to protect the United States from terrorism by integrating, analyzing and sharing information to drive whole-of-government action and achieve our national CT objectives.

What You'll Do

  • The National Counterterrorism Center's Directorate of Intelligence (NCTC/DI) is seeking a highly motivated officer to lead an effort that monitors, analyzes, and integrates all-source intelligence on counterterrorism (CT) issues for a broad set of USG customers and partners.
  • The organization provides warning of threats to US persons or interests within the Near East region; formulates and communicates analysis to inform policy and support operations; collaborates with partners across Government to identify risks and opportunities; and drives intelligence collection through regular interaction, formal evaluations, and structured requirements.
  • Demonstrated success as a Branch Chief.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well across organizational lines, breaking down stovepipes, and collaborating and communicating effectively across functional and geographic lines, as well as up, down, and across organizations.
  • Proven ability to develop and sustain an inclusive environment; ability to clearly define and articulate mission objectives and hold subordinates accountable for results.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to build consensus, work effectively and independently, and influence key stakeholders to build a broad coalition promoting an interagency and national approach to terrorism and counterterrorism.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan strategically, analyze, and assesses programmatic initiatives, and report trends impacting mission objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of resource management principles and applications.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communications skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of analytic tradecraft.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, including an ability to think strategically.
  • Demonstrated success in attracting and retaining highly skilled officers.
  • Corporate approach.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to exert influence with senior leadership and policy makers, and communicate complex thoughts and arguments to others, both internal and external to the organization.
