About the Position: Located at Madigan Army Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics This is a Direct Hire Solicitation - Salary negotiation MAY be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service - Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized
What You'll Do
- →Provide comprehensive genetic counseling for clients and families with suspected or confirmed genetic conditions.
- →Identify at-risk families, interpret disorders, analyze inheritance patterns, and review available options.
- →Collect comprehensive family histories and construct multi generational charts to support diagnostic evaluations.
- →Analyze genetic and clinical data to guide diagnostic testing and interpretation.
- →Provide psychosocial support and follow-up to patients adjusting to genetic diagnoses.
- →Advise and educate patients and parents through face-to-face counseling and clear explanations.
- →Support prenatal and high-risk clinics using cytogenetic and molecular diagnostic techniques.
- →Assist development of adult genetics clinics for familial cancer, cardiovascular, and neurodegenerative conditions.
- →Develop curricula and teach staff about genetic evaluation, counseling, and informed consent.
- →Participate in clinical research including protocol design, consent development, enrollment, data collection, and analysis,
