You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT - CODE 200 of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
What You'll Do
- →You will assist the Project Engineer in efficient management and resolution pertaining to non-nuclear overhaul procedures in support of waterfront availabilities, to include preparation, issue, and execution of technical work documents.
- →You will continuously and constantly improve work processes and utilize manpower and material resources effectively and efficiently.
- →You will be able to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents for complex nuclear and non-nuclear ship class systems and alterations.
- →You will assist the Project Engineer with administering and providing technical guidance for Project Field Engineering duties, conducting final reviews, and providing leadership for the department’s support of shipyard waterfront availabilities.
- →You will provide liaison/coordination with the Engineering Branch personnel, Engineering Division supervisory personnel, and other shops/codes within the shipyard.
- →You will assist with preparing and delegating Engineering Division non-nuclear and nuclear interface work to cognizant technical codes.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
