About the Role

What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a consultant and expert advisor for the organization, applying advanced concepts, principles, and processes for life cycle engineering and management of various systems, subsystems, equipment, and procedures.
- →You will keep abreast of the latest engineering technological advances and advise organizational staff on state-of-the-art equipment for incorporation into existing systems.
- →You will plan, manage, and coordinate various engineering development programs/projects that involve continuous systems modification, system requirement evaluation, and other pertinent factor/system performance analysis.
- →You will establish and maintain internal and external channels of communication across government and industry to coordinate systems engineering and maximize programmatic alignment.
- →You will define project goals, develop plans, schedules, cost estimates, resource requirements, and resulting budgets to achieve established program goals and objectives on schedule and within fiscal constraints.
- →You will troubleshoot, analyze, and determine operating problems, and recommend appropriate changes to correct deficiencies.
- →You will provide scientific, technical, and professional engineering advice and guidance to organizational leasers and support project/program execution elements.
- →You will represent the organization to parties involved in the planning, development, and execution of assigned projects/programs, including OPNAV, Fleet Activities, and other NAVSEA codes, planning yards, shipyards, and contractors.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
