You will serve as a General Engineer in the Bridge Integration & Targeted HM&E Systems Sustainment Program Office of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as the Design Interface Manager for Bridge Integration and Ship Control Systems for surface ship bridges.
- →You will direct, manage, chair, advise, and report on engineering studies, projects, and experiments.
- →You will serve as the expert and consultant to reliably and accurately identify, develop, and implement solutions in the domain of integrating and managing systems and configuration of non-nuclear surface ship bridges.
- →You will manage professional engineering and scientific work within the program office and across supporting organizations (e.g.
- →Naval Surface Warfare Centers) and industry.
- →You will establish and maintain internal and external communication across government and industry.
- →You will establish and maintain assessment and validation feedback mechanisms for bridge and ship control systems configuration and system upgrades with surface ship bridge watchstanders, mediated through the Surface Ship Type Commander (SURFOR).
- →You will provide technical, and budgetary advice to senior leadership for deliberately planned program actions as well as responses to unplanned events within the programs scope.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
