You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the Structures Branch of the In-Service Submarine Systems Engineering Division (SUB-E57) of TEAM SUB ENGINEERING of PEO SSN.
What You'll Do
- →You will be a General Engineer for In-Service Submarine Structures.
- →You will plan, manage, and coordinate various engineering development programs/projects that involve continuous systems modification, system requirement evaluation, and other system performance analysis affecting In-Service Submarine Structures.
- →You will troubleshoot, analyze and determine operating problems, and recommend appropriate changes to correct deficiencies.
- →You will conduct feasibility studies to analyze, evaluate, and determine the practicability and adaptability of proposed solutions; subsequently determine and evaluate the efficiency of adopted improvements to ensure requirements.
- →You will ensure appropriate systems engineering processes are properly applied during In-Service Submarine Structures life cycle sustainment.
- →You will serve as an advisor in applying advanced concepts, principles, and processes for life cycle engineering and management of various submarine structures, materials, subsystems, equipment, and procedures.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
