What You'll Do
- →NH-03 NCP: You will plan, manage, and coordinate various engineering development programs/projects that involve continuous systems modification, system requirement evaluation, and other pertinent factor/system performance analysis.
- →You will advise other organizational staff members about state-of-the-art equipment for incorporation into existing systems and equipment.
- →You will Trouble-shoots, analyzes and determines operating problems, and recommends appropriate changes to correct deficiencies.
- →You will conduct feasibility studies to analyze, evaluate, and determine the practicability/adaptability of proposed solutions; determine and evaluate the efficiency of adopted improvements to ensure progress and fulfillment of requirements.
- →You will plan, coordinates, and conduct various engineering development programs/projects that involve continuous systems modification, systems requirement evaluation, and systems performance analysis.
- →You will define project goals, develop plans, schedules, cost estimates, resource requirements, and resulting budgets to achieve established program goals and objectives on schedule and within fiscal constraints.
- →You will provide authoritative technical, scientific, and/or professional advice to senior level leadership concerning unusual or critical problems that often affect the work of internal and external stakeholders.
- →You will maintain technical expertise through continuing professional education and training, symposiums, and technical liaison with other organizations.
- →You will establish and maintain internal and external channels of communication across government and industry.
- →You will coordinate system of systems engineering, applying lessons learned to maximize programmatic alignment and efficiencies across the technical domain.
- →You will participate in the establishment and execution of applicable certification processes.
- →NH-04 NCP: You will be responsible for acquisition development, fielding, and sustainment of program: incorporate standardization, commonality, configuration management, risk management, design for life cycle support, T/E, and modeling/simulation.
- →You will be responsible for directing, managing, chairing, advising and reporting on engineering studies, projects, and experiments.
- →You will serve as a recognized expert consultant and authority to ensure reliability and accuracy in the identification, development and implementation of recommend solutions to highly complex problems.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
