You will serve as a General Engineer in the System Safety and Air Systems Integration of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. Salary Control Point: If selected, your salary will be set according to the established control points of this position, which is $143,913 p.a. - $187,093 p.a.
What You'll Do
- →You will apply progressive working knowledge of systems engineering of major aviation systems and associated software/hardware components to accomplish program/project requirements.
- →You will oversee the technical design, definition, and integration of a complex system with several major subcomponents such as propulsion, airframe, guidance, control, ordnance, fusing, avionics, software, computers, and interfaces.
- →You will serve as a technical leader in the system simulation, requirement, and performance specification assessment of technical risk, and analysis of test and evaluation results for assigned aviation systems.
- →You will coordinate the integration of aviation system performance requirements generated by operational and threat analysis into hardware and software.
- →You will formulate project-planning objectives for aviation system engineering development of current and long range programs/projects.
- →You will maintain continuous contact with personnel and program stakeholders in order to be informed on new aviation system engineering and scientific developments.
- →You will organize and perform technical reviews to ensure adequate resources for assigned aviation systems.
- →You will accomplish other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: 0801 Occupational Series: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
