You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER AIRCRAFT DIVISION, SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
What You'll Do
- →You will develop and review program technical and mission documentation, providing authoritative input and advice on all engineering and technical issues and ensuring engineering requirements are met.
- →You will participate in the development and design of new systems by assessing if available or imminent technology is sufficient to meet requirements or system concepts are applicable to fleet operational requirements.
- →You will recommend revised operational requirements or design concepts as required.
- →You will formulate engineering design concepts and performance requirements which provide the basis for overall technical and engineering planning for the assigned system.
- →You will maintain knowledge of current arid future capabilities, problems and demands upon the system (s) and provides overall technical planning for development, engineering, and evaluation of programs.
- →You will develop all engineering portions of Procurement Requests, Requests for Proposal, Requests for Quotations, etc.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
