This position serves as the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) assigned to PMA-299. Primary responsibility is for the technical management and direction of all engineering and coordination of the development, test, and production of this MH-60 variant. You will serve as a General Engineer in the Systems Engineering Department, Air Platform Systems Engineering Division of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
What You'll Do
- →You will develop and manage a comprehensive program to develop an assigned system as well as maintain knowledge of current arid future capabilities, problems, and demands.
- →You will direct development of contract engineering specifications which define system requirements and parameters, along with directing the systems engineering portion of evaluations during the source selection process.
- →You will evaluate technological developments and their applicability to the assigned program and recommend appropriate technical changes throughout the design process.
- →You will provide guidance to engineering and other personnel in the functional divisions regarding issuance of Requests for Proposals, Type Specifications, Procurement Requests, and Acquisition Plans.
- →You will organize and execute weapon system technical reviews as well as assess progress of system development test and evaluation activities, inventory, production, and support.
- →You will ensure all technical and engineering requirements of the program are met including quality assurance reliability, maintainability, system compatibility, and safety engineering.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
