What You'll Do
- →You will provide expert engineering and technical advice to a variety of audiences.
- →You will explain engineering solutions using in-depth studies, reports, data, and analysis.
- →You will participate in multi-agency meetings to develop technical specifications.
- →You will conduct training for internal and external personnel to ensure compliance with all governing rules, regulations, laws, etc. for the proper operation of fuel facilities.
- →You will perform inspections at various Department of Defense locations to assess facility conditions and implement engineering principles.
- →You will serve as the authoritative expert in various engineering disciplines to maintain and enhance the entire fuel supply chain.
- →You will perform on-the-ground engineering assessments, inspections, and analyses of fuel engineering systems (i.e., general engineering, mechanical, structural, environmental, civil engineering, and to a lesser degree electrical engineering).
- →You will manage the fuel facility Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (SRM) and Military Construction (MILCON) programs.
- →You will be a key member of the project design team during the design stage.
- →You will plan, develop, advise, and implement strategies for crucial fuel facility projects.
- →You will make frequent visits onboard ships which will include navigating ladders and scuttles.
- →You will perform additional duties at the direction and discretion of leadership.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
