This vacancy is for an General Engineer in the Bureau of Industry and Security within the Department of Commerce.
What You'll Do
- →Analyzes and integrates U.S. industry's economic/regulatory concerns into the Bureau's development of regulations and the Export Control Reform Act of 2018 (ECRA).
- →Applies engineering research and analyses, reviews technical proposals to measure effectiveness, and tests technical proposals for validity, cross-referencing findings with academic and industry standards.
- →Provides engineering technical advice, guidance, and or analysis utilizing knowledge of materials, environmental, mechanical, nuclear, electrical/electronics, computer, bio/biomedical, aerospace, mining, and or chemical engineering.
- →Applies engineering skills to monitor technological developments, proposes improvements to agency programs, and develops analyses and recommendations, as appropriate, to keep the export control system grounded on a sound technical foundation.
- →This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other General Engineer GS-0801-13/14, full performance GS-14 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location or local commuting area with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
- ✓This position requires a TOP SECRET/SCI CLEARANCE: You must successfully pass a background investigation.
- ✓This may include a credit check, a review of financial issues, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use of possession of drugs.
- ✓A probationary period may be required.

- ✓You MUST provide a copy of the letter containing the results of the equivalency evaluation with a course by course listing along with your application.
