What You'll Do
- →Determines or assists in determining forestry program financial, equipment, and personnel needs and prepares recommendations for budgetary requirements.
- →Provides professional and technical forestry guidance to employees of the unit including issuance, coordination, and review of work assignments.
- →Compiles field information in usable form for use in the development of the installation's Forestry Management Program.
- →Insures that silviculture prescriptions are designed to include the consideration of forest pests and diseases, the protection of wildlife with special emphasis on preservation.
- →Participates in the development of the installation's forest area timber management plans.
- →Conducts on-the-ground inventories using various methods and techniques including point sampling to gather information regarding species, stand condition, and volume.
