About the Role
Located in the Bureau of Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs, under the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy and Critical Minerals, Office of Critical Minerals (EEB/ECM/EM). Provides strategic and tactical advice on issues relating to critical mineral mining, processing, refining, and recycling; supply chain security and diversification; market dynamics; and international partnerships to secure access to minerals essential for energy, defense, and advanced technologies.
What You'll Do
- →Supports the development of EEB/ECM/CM's critical minerals policy work through analysis of supply chain vulnerabilities, market dynamics, and strategic partnership opportunities.
- →Leads identification, research, and development of critical minerals policy, including supply chain diversification, responsible sourcing, and strategic partnerships involving complex security and investment considerations.
- →Serves as Department and interagency point person on critical minerals initiatives, advancing supply chain security, responsible sourcing standards, and strategic partnerships with allies and partners.
- →Builds and maintains close liaisons with senior USG officials, ensuring all entities addressing critical minerals supply chain security understand, engage in, and fulfill their roles within EEB/ECM/CM's mission.
- →Analyzes, develops, and makes policy recommendations to senior leadership and provides background information, tactics, and proposed approaches for achieving policy positions as it relates to critical minerals supply chains.
