About the Role
The Fair Trade Practices Program (FTPP) Packers and Stockyards Division (PSD) administers the Packers and Stockyards Act of 1921, as amended and supplemented. The Packers and Stockyards Act (Act) is a competition, trade practice and financial protection law. The incumbent serves as a Financial Systems Analyst in the Central Reporting Unit (CRU) located in the Western Regional Office. The CRU is designed to more efficiently process Annual Reports (AR) and Custodial Special Annual Reports (CSAR).
What You'll Do
- →The duties described are for the full-performance level.
- →At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
- →The duties may include, but are not limited to: Traces transactions to identify the source of discrepancies and makes corrective action to bring accounts into agreement.
- →Documents the accuracy of adjusted accounts and recommends solutions to prevent recurrence of similar discrepancies.
- →Compiles and verifies the accuracy of accounting data to prepare statements and reports, schedules, and comparative analyses of accounting transactions.
- →Identifies changes in business operations, sets financial instruments levels, identifies financial violations, and firms at risk for financial failure or possibly providing false information.
- →Uses data included on reports to determine levels of solvency, custodial account balances, and whether financial instrument increase is necessary.
- →Reviews the functional design of systems and recommends improvements.
