You will serve as a Field Unit Local Hiring Authority (FUL) - Construction Control Representative within the Department of Interior, National Park Service, Southeast, Division of Area Services, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
What You'll Do
- →At the full performance level GS-09, the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1.
- →Project Planning: Develops project agreements, estimates for project management services and other documents required to complete the project set-up phase.
- →Working within a multidisciplinary team, applies field construction knowledge to assist with the review project scopes, participates in the development of design scopes of work, and/or assists with the preparation or review of independent government estimates.
- →Participates in design/review conferences, charrettes, and studies with NPS historical architects, conservators, archeologists, outside firms and stakeholders, etc. to review aspects of project design relating to project construction work.
- →Reviews project plans and specifications prior to construction to become familiar with the project scope.
- →Develops meeting minutes and/or agendas for pre-bid, bid-opening, and pre-construction meetings.
- →Reviews construction and/or design work schedules prior to the start of a project to setup baseline information for projects. 2.
- →Project Tracking and Documentation: Utilizes required software program to setup project ledgers, creates and tracks resource usage throughout the life of a project.
- →Develops progress meeting minutes, tracks material and sample deliveries on construction sites and documents design and/or construction progress using daily and/or weekly logs.
- →Develops logs to track Requests for Information (RFI's), Requests for Proposals (RFP's) and contract modifications. 3.
- →Project Execution: Assists with on-site inspection and coordination of construction and engineering work required for construction projects.
- →Monitors construction work, coordinating with project inspectors and technical representatives to ensure project goals are met and work items are performed in accordance with project plans and acceptable work practices for simple projects.
- →Observes, investigates, and reports on construction at all stages to senior staff.
- →Coordinates with senior staff for resolution of minor issues.
Requirements

- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.

- ✓You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
- ✓You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the uniform standards.
- ✓A uniform allowance will be provided.
- ✓This is a bargaining unit position represented by AFGE 2614.
- ✓You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
