About the Role

You will serve as a FACILITIES PROJECT INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER in the FACILITY ENGINEER BRANCH (SP25) of STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS.

What You'll Do

  • You will be responsible for engineering analysis, planning, requirements definition and related advanced engineering work to execute facilities projects.
  • You will conduct or direct analyses to estimate budget and other resource requirements to support new mission requirements and changes in operational tempo and to enhance or redirect existing SSP facilities to meet new FBM/TRIDENT needs.
  • You will serve as the technical expert for infrastructure requirements integration at your duty location supporting sustainment and modernization.
  • You will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing construction execution oversight of SSP facilities projects.
  • You will monitor the work performed by contractors to ensure quality products and installation and assures that construction conforms to the approved design and SSP facility design criteria.
  • You will conduct technical reviews of design and construction submittals, and other technical documents, for conformance to requirements and criteria.
  • You will conduct inspection and testing to verify the construction meets requirements.
  • You will participate in the development of near- and long-term infrastructure and operations integration, acquisition, planning, execution, and activation at your duty station.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
  • Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
  • OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

  • OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
  • Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
