About the Role

You will serve as a FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION DIRECTOR in the CNIC of NAVBASE KITSAP SILVERDALE WA.

What You'll Do

  • You will be responsible for the first line supervision of the managers accountable for providing client liaison; facilities management; facilities engineering and acquisition; production and environmental services.
  • You will be accountable for the effective and efficient leadership of personnel and the effective and efficient management of budgets, facility and equipment resources.
  • You will provide construction engineering expertise in major engineering disciplines on projects of an unusual or complex nature.
  • You will be responsible for workload planning, task assignment, organization, overall office management and supervision of all personnel assigned to the office.
  • You will be responsible for technical acceptability and quality approval of all construction managed by the office.
  • You will work closely with the PWD Financial Management Team to track all PWD funding budgets, labor expenditures, invoice processing and utility billings.

Requirements

  • SERIES: 0801: Professional Engineering Series Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
  • Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
  • OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

  • OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
  • Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
  • SERIES 0808: Professional Architecture Series Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree in architecture.
  • OR Have a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings.
  • The curriculum for a degree is in either architecture or architectural engineering and covers function, esthetics, site, structure, economics, mechanical-electrical, and other engineering problems related to the design and construction of buildings primarily (but not exclusively) intended to house human activities.
  • OR You lack a degree in architecture, but have 1 year of experience in an architect's office or in architectural work for each year short of graduation from a program of study in architecture that demonstrates that you have acquired a thorough knowledge of the fundamental principles and theories of professional architecture.
  • (Note - In the absence of college courses, 5 years of such experience is required).
  • Additional Information (Continued): Physical Demands: Some physical activity is required and work may be performed in field conditions, requiring walking, bending, climbing, crawling, and stooping.
  • Driving is required to visit work sits and customer's offices and facilities.
