About the Role
This Contract Specialist position is located in the F-35 Joint Program Office, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) in Arlington, VA. The position supports cradle to grave contracting requirements for the F-35 program. This includes the design, development, procurement, operation, and maintenance of F-35 aircraft, F135 engines, and associated equipment to support the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, international partner nations, and multiple Foreign Military Sales customers.
What You'll Do
- →You will develop procurement objectives for the program in terms of competition and price range, and construct the contractual vehicle including use of pricing arrangements, subcontracting policy, set-aside policies, and similar considerations.
- →You will prepare procurement documentation such as determinations and findings and solicitation documents.
- →You will prepare and maintain current acquisition plans, appropriate milestone charts, and related schedules.
- →You will plan the negotiation strategy, coordinate strategy with negotiation teams, and lead the negotiations.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions: A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
- ✓NOTE: The education requirement listed above applies only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000.
- ✓Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement.
- ✓Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement.
