NIST is seeking an Operations Research Analyst to serve as the NIST Export Control Manager. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive export control compliance program. This notice is issued under direct-hire authority to recruit new talent to occupations for which NIST has a severe shortage of candidates.
What You'll Do
- →In this position, you will serve as a principal member of the NIST research security office.
- →Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Conduct risk assessments for NIST IR 8484r1, titled Safeguarding International Science: Research Security Framework, and develop mitigation strategies.
- →Assess, develop, and implement NIST-wide export control policy and procedures.
- →Collect and analyze data on export control regulations and compliance.
- →Use data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve NIST's export compliance program.
- →Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations detailing analytical findings, compliance assessments, and recommendations to improve export control measures.
- →Review a variety of funding awards and agreements with government, academic, and industry partners for regulatory compliance.
- →Create and approve NIST Technology Control Plans with NIST researchers.
Requirements
