What You'll Do
- →This Environmental Protection Specialist position is located in the OSHE Division (Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment), Facilities and Administration (FA), Mission Support (MS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Serves as an Environmental Protection Specialist and support environmental points of contact for a geographically dispersed workforce, and support activities that assists their staff in developing, planning, and implementing environment and energy programs to achieve and maintain compliance and conformance within Federal, State, and local regulations.
- →Advises and assists the supervisory environmental specialist in the development, execution, and monitoring of a comprehensive environmental management program, and provide guidance to lower-level staff on how to solve difficult technical issues.
- →Provides environmental consultation to TSA headquarters and field and collaborates with other Federal agency personnel and external stake holders in support of the TSA Environment and Energy Programs.
- →Plans and implements the environmental management system assessment process to include oversight of audit program and monitoring of conformance and compliance.
- →Provides training assistance and supports environment and energy outreach to TSA personnel.
Requirements
- ✓You must possess U.S.
- ✓Citizenship or be a U.S.
- ✓You must have reached the minimum age (18) at the time of application.
- ✓You must complete a favorable Background Investigation (BI).
- ✓Selective Service registration is required.
- ✓Certification as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Level II or able to obtain certification within 12 months of appointment.
- ✓Certification as a Program Manager (PM) Level I or able to obtain certification within 18 months of appointment.
- ✓If you fail to meet the conditions of employment or any other pre-employment requirements, such as missing any of the scheduled appointments, the hiring agency may rescind their tentative offer of employment.
