- →The primary means toward this end is the development of partnerships among all levels of government and the private sector, including for-profit and non-profit organizations.
- →As an Environmental Protection Specialist, you will: Develop policies, procedures, and guidance documents to implement the Department's responsibilities on environmental matters pursuant to the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and related Legislation and Executive technical and procedural assistance to all CPD staff, both field and Headquarters.
- →Provide guidance on achieving compliance with 17 federal environmental laws for complex, controversial, and unique projects.
- →Apply new developments and theories to major environmental compliance problems not susceptible to remedy by established methods.
- →Examples include: environmental noise, radon, air pollution, toxic wastes and industrial hazards.
- →Conduct analysis of complex projects and programs, establishing nationwide precedence.
- →Make decisions or recommendations significantly changing, interpreting, or expanding important HUD programs for environmental compliance.
- →Provide leadership and input into HUD's environmental regulations and policies.
- →Respond to Departmental and Congressional inquiries and requests for information regarding environmental issues.
Requirements
- ✓The official duty station for this position will be in Alexandria, Virginia.
- ✓Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.
- ✓Key Requirements: Must be U.S.
- ✓Citizen or U.S.
- ✓A probationary or trial period may be required.
- ✓Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.
- ✓Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- ✓Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
