You will serve as an Environmental Engineer in the Environmental (EV) Business Line, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAFAC) Southeast.
What You'll Do
- →You will review engineering and design projects to ensure environmental standards are met.
- →You will prepare scopes of work, government estimates, board reports, project schedules, and other documents to execute and administer the contract(s) in the petroleum tank compliance program area.
- →You will gather data and prepare reports to prevent pollution by informing management of environmental compliance problems.
- →You will provide technical expertise in petroleum storage tank and spill preparedness, controls and countermeasures compliance issues, policies, and regulations to promote compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
- →You will develop solutions to environmental problems that will enable customers to meet their compliance requirements.
- →You will review and comment on the contractor submittals, monitors progress, review contractor payments, prepare contractor evaluations and recommend final acceptance of reports and other submittals required by the contract(s).
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
