About the Position: You will provide Engineering Technician services in support of the United States Army Garrison, Directorate of Public Works (DPW) at West Point, New York. The Directorate is responsible for the management and oversight of all activities related to maintaining 16,000 acres of property, buildings, and roadways.
What You'll Do
- →Provides input throughout the design process and reviews plans and specifications for bidability, constructability, operability and maintainability Attends meetings with designers, project managers and Architect/Engineer firms to participate in decisions regarding project specifications, scheduling, packaging and other matters related to the construction process.
- →Upon construction contract award, assumes primary responsibility for the project from the Engineering Branch project manager.
- →Resolves technical issues on projects or elevates issues to the branch chief for resolution.
- →Identifies requirements for modifications and initiates documentation and justification for contracting and budgeting actions required, prepares scopes of work and cost estimates.
- →Develops Scopes of Work and Independent Govt.
- →Estimates for small construction projects to include Job Order Contract (JOC), Multiple Award Task Order Contract, and Indefinite delivery/Indefinite Quantity contracts and one time service contracts.
