About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory. This position is being filled as an Engineering Technician (Civil) DE-03 (GS-08/10) at either Vicksburg, Mississippi or Fort Polk, Louisiana. GS 8: $55,882 - $72,644 GS 9: $61,722 - $80,243 GS 10: $67,970 - $88,356
What You'll Do
- →Coordinate with team to plan and accomplish projects.
- →Determine project equipment requirements and logistics.
- →Communicate directly with project stakeholders.
- →Utilize considerable judgment on unconventional projects.
- →Interpret engineering guidelines, principles, and practices related to: lab-scale and full-scale testing of structures and structural components, test article construction, prototype fabrication, explosive engineering, geophysical principles.
- →Lead diverse teams in completing field and laboratory experiments.
- →Take accountability for data collection, validity of data, and adherence of safety rules and regulations.
- →Research literature reviews to determine if precedents exist for current projects.
- →Develop new procedures and techniques that can be utilized by others.
