This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as shift engineer with responsibility for the efficient and continuous operation of all engine room equipment. During pumping operations, maintains informational records of equipment utilization and transmits same to supervisor.
What You'll Do
- →Repairs diesel engines, storm water pumps, raw water-cooling systems, fuel oil delivery systems, hydraulic servo systems, backflow gates, starting system, motor control centers, and station control center.
- →Performs major repairs to equipment including crank shaft bearings, cylinder liners, pistons and rods, fuel injectors, gear reducer gears/ bearings, pump shaft bearings, electric motors, pumps, valves, gauges, electrical components, etc.
- →Performs repair work and preventative maintenance routines such as periodic warmups of all engines, exercising of all equipment assigned to the plant, touch up painting of equipment, housekeeping maintenance, etc.
