What You'll Do
- →You will serve as an Electronics Engineer for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division.
- →You will apply engineering principles to design, analyze, test, and verify analog or digital electronic devices and systems.
- →You will prepare documentation covering product requirements, system specifications, and maintenance procedures.
- →You will test and inspect the reliability and safety of electronic devices and systems, analyze data, and evaluate equipment performance under varying conditions.
- →You will evaluate system performance and recommend design modifications or equipment repair to improve performance and meet cost objectives.
- →You will integrate new or experimental electronic equipment into existing systems.
- →You will provide advice and technical expertise for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electronic systems.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
- ✓TO QUALIFY FOR ND-3: Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows: A master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
