About the Role
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC-TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1205000 and is part of the KY UTES, National Guard.
What You'll Do
- →As an ELECTRONICS MECHANIC-TITLE 32, WG-2604-11, you will perform functional tests, analyze performance and malfunctions, remove, install, test, maintains, modify, perform alignments and troubleshoot the electronic, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic assemblies, modules, and interconnecting cables of a variety of combat and tactical equipment.
- →Use a variety of equipment for fault isolation, verification, or adjustment of assemblies and modules.
- →Perform Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) operations for fault isolation on LLM electronic modules, circuit cards, and assemblies to component level.
- →Replace faulty components on UUT printed circuit boards and power distribution systems.
- →Utilize oscilloscopes, signal generators, digital multi-meters, and other test equipment to locate, diagnose, and repair malfunctions.
- →Troubleshoot carrier electrical and power distributions systems of the equipment being repaired.
- →Isolate faulty assemblies, cables, wiring harnesses and modules to component level for repair or replacement.
- →Install equipment modifications to system per technical work orders.
- →Perform initial and final checks and may perform inspections when required of designated systems.
- →May act as quality assurance/control inspector for other mechanics' work.
- →Determine deficiencies in troubleshooting procedures for the equipment being repaired and makes recommendations for corrective action to technical manuals.
- →Perform field and limited sustainment maintenance to include installation, routine maintenance, repair, and overhaul of fixed and mobile operational communication and electronics systems.
- →Remove and replace defective electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.
- →Conduct inspections, diagnose nature and extent of equipment malfunction.
Requirements
- ✓Military Grades: SGT(E5)-CW4(W4) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard.
- ✓You must be assigned to a compatible military position.
- ✓Wear of the military uniform.
- ✓Position may require a pre-employment physical.
- ✓May be subject to furlough actions.
- ✓May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
- ✓Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- ✓Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.
- ✓Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus.
- ✓Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility.
- ✓This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
- ✓An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
