This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: You will ensure proper and effective operation of the Sea-Going Hopper Dredge's electronic equipment and systems.
What You'll Do
- →Operate and maintain shipboard electronics systems including navigation, communications, and shipboard computer network hardware and software.
- →Maintain and integrate computers and Local Area Networks (LAN).
- →Ensure proper and effective operation of the Dredge's electronic equipment and systems by means of basic and electronic troubleshooting.
- →Hands on maintenance and repairs.
- →Collect and use applicable electronic methods to reformat data throughout the vessel.
- →Report on problems encountered on the various systems and equipment.
- →Track maintenance.
- →Maintain accurate records of faults and repairs.
- →Ensure spare parts and components for all systems are available.
- →Calibrate equipment for the most efficient use of resources.
- →Work with and assist the vessel's electrician(s) as needed.
- →Operate with the ships Lockout Tag-out system and other safety programs.
