Purpose of this position is to install, maintain, monitor, repair, control and in some cases, fabricate the control portion of the Energy Monitoring and Control System (EMCS), related systems, and all other control systems at the Northern California Health Care System (NCHCS) under Facilities Management Service.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: Perform installation, maintenance, repair, modification, and in some cases, fabrication of the highly diverse and very sophisticated control equipment, making up the components, assemblies and systems of the EMCS.
- →Applies detailed knowledge of these components, assemblies, and systems to bypass (when necessary) certain components to the major portion of the EMCS system operational while performing the installation, repair, modification, or fabrication of some portion of the system.
- →Knowledge of electronic solid state circuitry, the application of maintenance and troubleshooting techniques on varied devices, such as state of the art measurement techniques, optical, mechanical, electric and pneumatic devices and various types of self contained calibration systems is required.
- →Required to have the ability to interpret complex multi-view drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, electrical and electronic block diagrams, schematics, manufactures specifications, and other technical material to understand the construction of operation of the industrial controls and to isolate and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- →Sometimes repairs or modifications are performed when blueprints and manufactures specifications are not available or incomplete.
- →Uses both previously established and innovational techniques to determine the type of test and test equipment required to identify malfunction, interpret results, and determine applicable approach to the problem, both in maintenance and in making modification fabrications and additions to the system.
- →Learns the methods in use for diagnosing various types of problems, making decisions, troubleshooting on a multitude of systems using information received from a console, engineering drawings, specifications and make various decisions on operating capabilities, efficiency, load shedding, and other highly technical decision.
- →Work Schedule: Monday Through Friday 08:00am - 04:30pm Position Description Title/PD#: Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic/PD03247-A Physical Requirements: Position requires a physical pre-placement exam.
- →Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise handles items weighting up to 40 pounds.
- →Occasionally handles items that weight more, but assistance is usually available.
- →Works in a sitting position for extended periods.
- →Frequently stands, walks, bends, crouches, reaches, and stoops.
- →Occasionally climbs and works in high places
Requirements
