About the Role
This position is eligible for a recruitment incentive. This position is a Journeyman Electrician position and is in the Facility Management Service, Electric Shop at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Syracuse, New York.
What You'll Do
- →Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm with rotating evenings from 2:00pm to 10:30pm.
- →Position Description Title/PD#: Electrician/PD01200A Physical Requirements: Repairs and installations are made from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and other hard-to-reach places.
- →This requires the incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- →The work requires frequent lifting and carrying of tools, equipment, and parts that weigh up to 20 pounds and, less often, up to 40 pounds.
- →Recruitment Incentive: Authorized Critical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not authorized.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
