About the Role
This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Office of Sustainable Fisheries (OSF), with one vacancy in Silver Spring, MD or Saint Petersburg, FL.
What You'll Do
- →As an Economist - Industry Economist, you will perform the following duties: Plan and carry out economic and cost-benefit analyses in support of fishery management and policy actions.
- →Use quantitative and qualitative analytical methods to evaluate the economic effects of domestic fisheries management and related regulatory actions.
- →Collaborate with agency economists to support consistent analytical approaches and best practices.
- →Draft and review sections of regulatory and analytical documents to ensure compliance with the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Regulatory Flexibility Act, Executive Order 12866, and other applicable authorities.
- →Develop and apply econometric or mathematical models to evaluate potential impacts of fishery management actions on seafood markets, fishery participants, coastal communities, and related sectors.
- →This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS).
- →Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band.
- →The ZP-3 is equivalent to the GS-11/12.
