About the Role
This position is being filled under a stream-lined hiring authority, Title 21 of the United States Code (21 US Code 379d-3a) as amended by the 21st Century Cures Act of 2016, section 3072 and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, Section 3624. The candidate selected for this position will serve under a career or career-conditional appointment and be paid under the provisions of this authority. This position is being recruited based on the Title 21 Pay Table 2, Band D (equivalent GS-14).
What You'll Do
- →Conducts independent quantitative economic and public health studies of FDA-regulated products and industries as a basis for forecasting trends, identifying public health needs and impacts, and addressing major problems affecting the Agency.
- →Provides economic and public health consultation to FDA leadership and decision makers.
- →Determines data requirements and devises methods for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data; reviews scientific and economic literature for methods and content relevant to the Agency's mission and public health goals.
- →Provides consulting services and advice on economic, quantitative public health, and other analytic issues to FDA centers, the Office of the Commissioner, and other FDA collaborators as they develop regulatory plans and policy decisions.
- →Develops flexible policy options to address the concerns of those most affected by the Agency's regulations and policies, drawing on program and policy analyses across regulatory and public health dimensions.
- →Conducts Regulatory Impact Analyses using Cost-Benefit analysis tools and approaches to inform FDA rulemaking and regulatory actions.
