About the Role
The Bureau of Labor Statistics measures labor market activity, working conditions, price changes, and productivity in the U.S. economy to support public and private decision making. This position is located in the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Office of Prices and Living Conditions.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include, but are not limited to: Lead major program and system redesign projects by directing or coordinating the activities of teams and advisory groups, setting priorities, and negotiating solutions when priorities or needs conflict.
- →Manage processing system redesign efforts, resources, and contractor work.
- →Mentor and guide staff by assigning work and supporting team performance.
- →Advise senior leadership at the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) on system and technological redesign initiatives.
- →Conduct long range planning and serve as technical expert for Consumer Expenditures (CE) processing system development efforts.
- →Conduct research to improve Consumer Expenditure (CE) processing systems, methodologies, and procedures to generate efficiencies and improve data quality.
- →Identify data problems and develop quantitative or qualitative solutions.
- →Prepare clear technical documents, reports, presentations, statements of work, and summaries.
- →Deliver presentations to internal and external Consumer Expenditure (CE) data users.
- →Provide technical direction on methodological, economic, and statistical issues.
