About the Role
The Civil Rights Division (CRT or Division) is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as the Director, Second Amendment Section.
What You'll Do
- →As the Director, the successful candidate: Provides executive leadership and strategic direction for the Department's nationwide Second Amendment enforcement program.
- →Directs complex litigation, enforcement, compliance, policy, and outreach initiatives to advance the Department's mission.
- →Establishes enforcement priorities and oversees litigation strategy, including affirmative litigation, statements of interest, amicus briefs, and motions to intervene.
- →Leads coordination with DOJ components, federal agencies, and external stakeholders to ensure consistent implementation of Second Amendment enforcement.
- →Oversees strategic planning, organizational management, budget, workforce, and resource allocation to achieve program objectives.
- →Provides executive oversight of the Section's operations, ensuring effective execution of legal and enforcement activities consistent with applicable laws, regulations, and Department priorities.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must possess a J.D. degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association and be a member in good standing of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico bar.
