The AFSC Director of Contracting (AFSC/PK) leads policy and execution across Tinker, Hill, and Robins AFBs, managing 6,500+ actions and $5B annually. This multi-hatted role oversees the "organize, train, equip" mission for the contracting workforce and tenant units (AFLCMC, AFNWC, AFTC), while directly managing maintenance and supply chain contracts at Tinker AFB.
What You'll Do
- →The Incumbent serves as the Senior Contracting Official (SCO), wielding broad authority to represent the AFSC Commander in high-level acquisition planning, strategic policy implementation, and the defense of contracting decisions before senior military leadership, Congressional members, and industry partners.
- →This multifaceted role requires the executive direction of complex contracting functions-including pricing, research and development, and central support-while ensuring strict compliance with the Air Force Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (AFFARS) and other federal directives.
- →Beyond strategic representation, the Director is responsible for process optimization, utilizing advanced management concepts to streamline operations, safeguard government assets, and enhance productivity across the sustainment enterprise.
- →This leadership extends to the functional management of a diverse military and civilian workforce across multiple locations, where the Incumbent directs personnel development, enforces equal opportunity and safety standards, and strategically allocates resources to meet evolving mission requirements.
- →By maintaining critical liaisons with other major commands and industry leaders, the Director ensures uniformity in contracting philosophies and the successful execution of billions in annual obligations to support the AFSC mission.
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor's from an accredited institution required; Master's degree in business or administrative field is highly desired Must be DAWIA certified in Contracting with Certification Category: Foundational.
