What You'll Do

  • This position is located within the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), Levine Institute for Holocaust Education, Washington, DC.
  • The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is a federally chartered, nonpartisan institution that was created by the US Congress to serve as America's national memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and an educational institution dedicated to the history and lessons of the Holocaust.
  • The Museum seeks to educate Americans from all 50 states and all walks of life as well as international audiences.
  • The Museum has three areas of expertise: Holocaust remembrance, Holocaust scholarship and education, and genocide prevention.

  • Duties include: Plan, develop, direct, administer, and evaluate a comprehensive national and international education and outreach program for members of select professions including the military, law enforcement, government, and the judiciary (i.e. leadership professions).
  • Plans and manages evaluation and assessment to measure desired learning outcomes and the effectiveness of the programs in meeting those outcomes and promotes a team culture of continuous monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
  • Establishes clear protocols for developing extensive partnership relations and oversees the maintenance of these relationships with a wide variety of professional organizations and educational institutions.
  • Oversees the research on audience-related professional development training and education programs conducted in the armed forces, law enforcement, the judiciary and other government and civic agencies.
  • Develops and/or reviews policies, strategies, or programs.
  • Plans, designs, and oversees execution of analysis and research needed to improve strategies and programming issues and problems.
  • Develops and formulates budgets to justify and support funding needs.
  • Supervises and provides leadership over the day-to-day work operations and programs of staff.
