About the Role
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) links U.S. agriculture to the world, improves foreign market access for U.S. food and agricultural products, builds new markets, improves the competitive position of U.S. agriculture in the global marketplace, and provides food aid and technical assistance to foreign countries. Positions from this announcement will be filled in the Washington D.C. locality area, and/ or in the Beltsville, MD locality area.
What You'll Do
- →The duties described are for the full-performance level.
- →At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
- →The duties may include, but are not limited to: Analytical assignments require analysis of interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency and productivity affecting major administrative programs of the Agency.
- →Conducts research, develops facts and, on the basis thereof develops courses of action to resolve special problems referred to the Senior Director for objective executive determination.
- →Initiates and directs staff members in the preparation, issuance, and interpretation of procedural rules, guidelines and policies and the interrelationships between Agency program and administrative policies and procedures as required.
- →Supports the design and implementation of the Program Area Action Plan and data collection and presentation for Data Driven Reviews.
- →Performs other duties as assigned to accomplish the major objectives and responsibilities of the office.
- →Directs the formulation and development of recommendations for complex operating policies for the handling of all functions assigned.
