About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center on Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.
What You'll Do
- →Interviewing patients to determine dietary tolerances, current intake, and eating difficulties.
- →Obtaining pertinent information recorded in the patient electronic medical record related to nutrition risk.
- →Provides basic diet instructions to patients and their families and documents in the electronic medical record.
- →Interprets diet orders, ensures appropriateness of menu selection, and incorporates tolerances into patient meal plans.
- →Evaluating food consumption on trays identified for calorie calculation.
- →Utilizing appropriate references and/or a computer to calculate protein and calorie intake.
- →Appropriately referring patients requiring intervention of a clinical dietitian.
- →Provides education using established protocol and educational materials.
