What You'll Do

  • The Development Office is responsible for securing private financial support to sustain and expand the Gallery's exhibitions, educational initiatives, conservation efforts, and other programs that advance the National Gallery of Art's mission.
  • Duties for this position include; Identify, cultivate, and steward a portfolio of foundation donors and prospects.
  • Develop and implement strategic foundation giving plans in coordination with the Director of Strategic Giving to secure support for the National Gallery's fundraising priorities.
  • Prepare foundation grant proposals for donors and prospects.
  • Prepare progress reports for foundation donors which provide information on the impact and outcome of their giving.
  • Produce correspondence for donor emails, letters, and gift acknowledgments.
  • Collaborate with foundation prospects to assess their giving capabilities.
  • Manage special projects and events to cultivate and steward foundation prospects.
  • Work collaboratively with the Development Department to support fundraising efforts, internal and external to the Gallery Provide centralized project management support to the development department by coordinating fundraising efforts for exhibition support.
