What You'll Do
- →The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is looking for an experienced senior level executive to serve as the Deputy Director, Office of Energy Market Regulation (OEMR).
- →Under overall guidance of the Director, the Deputy: ensures all programmatic responsibilities of the Office of Energy Market Regulation are accomplished in an effective manner.
- →Works as a team with other Office Directors and their respective staffs to support the Commission's mission and fulfill substantive and managerial responsibilities.
- →Develops market, rate, and tariff policies; OEMR mission and vision statements, goals, and strategic plans; and supports the development of the Commission's strategic and performance plans.
- →Additional responsibilities: Implements initiatives promoting and enhancing competitive markets and conducts examination and interpretation of elements critical to maintaining competitive markets, including market power, market rules, market structure, and market behavior.
- →Develops and implements processes and procedures for more timely review of matters, including tariff and rate filings, relevant aspects of certificate applications, requests for rehearing and complaints; pre-filing involvement by staff; appropriate use of the delegation of authority; and collaboration and coordination with other relevant Commission offices.
- →Develops program performance systems, measures, and assessments.
- →Establishes effective collaborative teams and promotes teaming among diverse professional disciplines, including engineers, economists, accountants, attorneys, and energy industry analysts, at the Commission to promote and enhance competitive markets and fulfill the Commission's statutory duties under the Natural Gas Act, the Federal Power Act, and the Interstate Commerce Act.
Requirements
- ✓Must be a U.S.
- ✓Citizen or National.
- ✓Subject to a 1-year SES/supervisory probationary period (unless already completed).
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓This is not a bargaining unit position.
- ✓File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report OGE-278e within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.
- ✓A background investigation is required.
- ✓May be subject to pre-employment and random drug tests.
- ✓You may be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- ✓Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- ✓If hired, you may be required to divest certain energy-related securities.
- ✓Relocation expenses will not be paid.
