What You'll Do

  • You will provide executive leadership and establish financial policy to align the command's financial posture with strategic objectives.
  • You will direct long-range financial strategies to support the mission, industrial base modernization, and production capacity.
  • You will oversee the direction, development, and implementation of all financial management policies and programs.
  • Direct the integration of financial operations with engineering, production, logistics, and contracting.
  • You will lead the command's audit readiness program, ensuring full compliance with DoD audit standards (FIAR).
  • Implement corrective actions for audit findings and ensure sustainable internal control environments.
  • You will assist in command-level budget formulation, justification, and execution.
  • Provide interpretive and analytical advice on financial transactions and prepare financial reports and briefings for senior leadership.
  • You will exercise full supervisory responsibility for the Comptroller Department.
  • Plan and assign work, set priorities, evaluate performance, make hiring decisions, and lead the professional development of the financial management workforce.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Basic Requirements Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
  • The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
  • (The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard.
  • Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
  • The applicant's background must also include oneof the following: Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality.
