This position is located in the Office of Information Technology (OIT), in Camp Springs, MD. As the Deputy Chief Information Officer for Delivery (DCIO), you will collaborate with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) in carrying out the strategic vision for information technology (IT) programs. He/she will direct and manage the headquarters staff in all areas related to the information technology resources of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
What You'll Do
- →Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is an agency within the U.S.
- →Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
- →We lawfully administer immigration and naturalization adjudication functions and establish immigration services policies and priorities.
- →The Office of Information Technology (OIT) develops and implements technology solutions that power USCIS operations.
- →OIT is also responsible for anticipating and gathering mission needs and responding to the requirements identified by business users in the development, testing, integration, implementation, evaluation, operation, and maintenance of IT capabilities used to accomplish the mission of USCIS.
- →Major Duties The DCIO for Delivery participates in monitoring of all delivery program activities, ensuring policy consistency, program effectiveness, quality project management, business values, and responding to all USCIS delivery needs.
- →As such, he/she also represents USCIS on matters internal and external to the agency.
- →The DCIO for Delivery will exercise executive direction and leadership in assisting the CIO in carrying out the following duties and responsibilities: Conceives plans, directs and coordinates the full range of IT delivery requirements of USCIS through subordinates, supervisors, and managers.
- →Oversee the management and administration, development, implementation, and evaluation of state-of-the art, cutting- edge, global IT systems to ensure that they meet USCIS's mission.
- →Designs and develops strategic plans to ensure a sound integrated IT architecture and promotes efficient use of resources, effective system design, and operation of all IT systems.
- →Analyzes and evaluates, on a quantitative and qualitative basis, the effectiveness and business value of IT projects and operations ensuring the USICS efforts achieve agency goals of the designated programs.
- →Ensures plans and programs and initiatives are budgeted for and are ready for implementation to support USCIS goals and milestones.
- →Provides guidance/counsel to top-level executive management of an agency/organization with respect to information management technology program management activities with mission program priorities and performance, and to coordinate the efforts of the Information Technology workforce to deliver on those mission program priorities and performance.
- →As a member of the agency's executive team, you will implement the President's Management Agenda within your specific area of responsibility.
